Morrum

मौरम

Morrum is found in the rivers flowing through Jhansi, Lalitpur, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Fatehpur, Banda, and Sonbhadra districts. The morrum is derived from the weathering and disintegration of granitic rocks. Another type of morrum called ‘Red Morrum’ is in fact laterite soils found on the elevated ground comprising old weathering surfaces. It is used for spreading on Kucha roads.

झांसी, ललितपुर, जालौन, हमीरपुर, महोबा, फतेहपुर, बांदा और सोनभद्र जिलों से बहने वाली नदियों में पाया जाता है। मौरम ग्रेनाइट चट्टानों के अपक्षय और विघटन से प्राप्त होता है। एक अन्य प्रकार का मौरम जिसे 'रेड मौरम' कहा जाता है, वास्तव में लेटराइट मिट्टी है जो पुरानी अपक्षय सतहों वाली ऊँची जमीन पर पाई जाती है। इसका उपयोग कच्ची सड़कों पर फैलने के लिए किया जाता है।
